Help ESI Cares and Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore Build a Home Ramp!

In April 2026, ESI Cares will partner with Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore on a special project – building a home ramp for a neighbor in need. Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore is a local non-profit organization that provides free, critical home repairs for income eligible homeowners in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties.

What does Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore do?

This vital organization bring neighbors, businesses, and organizations together to repair homes and revitalize communities. In turn, they preserve home ownership, strengthen families, and help sustain the historical richness and inter-generational legacies that make the Eastern Shore a special place to live.

Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore repairs and rehabilitates the houses of neighbors—many of whom are seniors or people living with disabilities. All repairs are performed at no cost to the homeowner by combining gifts of money, donated supplies, and countless hours of volunteer and contracted labor.

Rebuilding Together has its roots in Midland TX where in 1973 volunteers donated their time and skills to rehabilitate the homes of their neighbors in the the last weekend in April, and began what was known as “Christmas in April.” This effort led to the founding of Rebuilding Together in 1988. Go to the Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore website for more information on this organization!

How is ESI Cares going to partner with Rebuilding Together Eastern Shore in April?

We’re going to build a ramp! As a team, we’ll work under the direction of an experienced lead to construct a metal ramp for a neighbor in Kent County or Queen Anne’s County who needs a safe and accessible way to enter/exit their home. We’ll also share a meal with the neighbor and complete some basic yard cleanup. Project time is anticipated to be 3-6 hours, and the date will be determined soon.
