About Eastern Shore Indivisible

Our Mission

Eastern Shore Indivisible aims to inspire, inform, and empower the Eastern Shore community to actively participate in strengthening our democracy.

Our Vision

A democracy of, by and for the people.

Who We Are

Eastern Shore Indivisible:

  • Was founded in February 2025 in response to the attack on the rule of law and the erosion of democratic norms.
  • Is an all-volunteer organization that serves Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Kent, and Caroline Counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
  • Believes democracy works best when all Americans, not just the wealthy and powerful, are represented, regardless of their party affiliation or political ideology.
  • Is nonpartisan and welcomes Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and others who share our commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, building strong communities, and ensuring that government responds to the needs of all people.

What We Do

Eastern Shore Indivisible builds community through action, education, and civic engagement to enable a healthy democracy. We are building a movement of engaged citizens committed to participation in the democratic process

Our work includes:

Community Education & Dialogue – We host monthly informational meetings at the Queen Anne’s County Library where we discuss critical issues, share strategies for taking action, and offer opportunities for community service. Recent meetings have featured a presentation on immigration-related issues as well as discussions with candidates vying for representation of the MD 01 Congressional District.

Legislative Advocacy – We track state and federal legislation to identify opportunities for citizen action. We encourage community members to contact their representatives through emails, calls, and faxes on issues affecting our democracy.

Voter Engagement – We participate in postcard and letter-writing campaigns, reaching out to voters in swing states. As the 2026 midterms approach, we will shift our focus to the MD 01 Congressional election. We partner with other organizations to ensure that eligible citizens are fully informed and able to express their voice in our democracy.

Coalition Building – Working with other organizations, we actively participate in regional civic events, including town halls with representatives like Jamie Raskin and marches celebrating leaders like John Lewis, supporting those who are committed to democracy and justice.

Community Service (ESI Cares) – Because we believe that democracy flourishes in strong communities, we support local food pantries, assist with community events, and organize toy and gift drives for families in need.

How We’re Organized

Our work is supported by five action groups:

  • Membership Engagement – Onboarding new members, identifying skills and interests, and creating volunteer pathways
  • Community Outreach – Recruiting new members, building coalitions, facilitating events and issue-specific engagement
  • Activism – Identifying and coordinating local activism opportunities and collaboration with other groups
  • Legislation and Election Support – Tracking and reporting on state and federal legislation and elections
  • Marketing and Communications – Managing our communication channels and content
